I’m opposed to the premise of this movie that The Rock can injured by any man made weapons or natural disasters. I’m also opposed to The Rock starring in predictable actioners that appear to be simultaneously a shiny remake of The Towering Inferno and a shameless thief of many elements from Die Hard.

I really can’t say much about this movie because it was so paint by numbers. But the things I did like:

The Rock’s character is disabled. Representation is good and important.

Neve Campbell, who I haven’t seen in what seems like a century, was a straight up badass.

Oh, and when the skyscraper is ablaze, it looked like the Eye of Sauron.

That’s it. Not much to see here. BUT to be fair I was raised on action movies and I am an extremely numb action movie fan. It takes something really well executed or startingly fresh for me to even raise an eyebrow. That’s not a fair standard. So if you are looking for a standard action film and you like action films in general, you’ll probably like this.

(1) Shark Wrighter (SW) Score: Based on a sum of 5 sub-scores (acting, directing, writing/story, effects: cinematography &/or animation &/or effects, editing) with 1 being terrible and 10 being terrific.

(2) Octopuses (0-5 🐙, with 5 being fantastic and 0 being feces)

(3) Octopuses are my unquantifiable feeling…not that SW score is scientific…but this one is even less so

(4) ++ This optional section includes any incredibly *brilliant observations that don’t fit into simple quantitative slices like the scores and octopuses *(they are likely NOT brilliant)
