As far as I’m concerned, Joss Whedon is undefeated when it comes to superhero flicks. And the level of difficulty involved in a movie with this many heroes is off the charts hard. But he managed to give each Avenger good and meaningful time onscreen and he made Ultron a very compelling villain. it’s hard to fault Ultron in a way. Humanity hasn’t exactly been a good custodian of the planet. Not only has it made a tradition of pillaging nature, it’s also reveled in killing each other off as often as possible. But yeah I get that killing all the people on the planet isn’t the most palatable solution. Also, James Spader was the perfect choice to voice Ultron. he has one of those killer voices that is just pregnant with confidence, cunning, and evil. Sure, he can play a good guy but his voice, to paraphrase Working Girl, is made for sin. I was sad to see him go. But it was fitting that Paul Bettany (another sterling voice) as Vision finishes him off.

(1) Shark Wrighter (SW) Score: Based on a sum of 5 sub-scores (acting, directing, writing/story, effects: cinematography &/or animation &/or effects, editing) with 1 being terrible and 10 being terrific.

(2) Octopuses (0-5 🐙, with 5 being fantastic and 0 being feces)

(3) Octopuses are my unquantifiable feeling…not that SW score is scientific…but this one is even less so

(4) ++ This optional section includes any incredibly *brilliant observations that don’t fit into simple quantitative slices like the scores and octopuses *(they are likely NOT brilliant)
