I was psyched for this after watching the first one. Despite reading far too many comics, I had never read a single Guardians of the Galaxy book and I’m not even sure I even had heard of them. Again, it’s Marvel Studios’ amazing story formula that can make a minor hero or team into a major phenomenon. But this was a bit of a letdown. It was never going to be as fresh as the original for obvious reasons. But the whole family theme is maybe Hollywood’s most favorite theme, only trailing “be yourself”. Still, the effects and the actors and characters were still vibrant and fun. Just not like the first.  It was fine. But unlike the first, I have no drive to rewatch it. That’s probably the most telling thing.

(1) Shark Wrighter (SW) Score: Based on a sum of 5 sub-scores (acting, directing, writing/story, effects: cinematography &/or animation &/or effects, editing) with 1 being terrible and 10 being terrific.

(2) Octopuses (0-5 🐙, with 5 being fantastic and 0 being feces)

(3) Octopuses are my unquantifiable feeling…not that SW score is scientific…but this one is even less so

(4) ++ This optional section includes any incredibly *brilliant observations that don’t fit into simple quantitative slices like the scores and octopuses *(they are likely NOT brilliant)
