A genius has a nervous breakdown. This happens. What also happens is that Hollywood LOVES a genius with mental health issues biopic. LOVES IT. I’m not saying I don’t. It’s comforting to see that great people also had great problems. As a whole, I’m not sure how I feel about this. Yes, he breaks down. Yes, he comes back. But he’s not just different. He’s less. In the artistic sense, I mean. But he’s more. In the happiness sense. I guess that’s better but it is a high price to pay. I suppose that’s what makes this a biopic and not a fairy tale.

(1) Shark Wrighter (SW) Score: Based on a sum of 5 sub-scores (acting, directing, writing/story, effects: cinematography &/or animation &/or effects, editing) with 1 being terrible and 10 being terrific.

(2) Octopuses (0-5 🐙, with 5 being fantastic and 0 being feces)

(3) Octopuses are my unquantifiable feeling…not that SW score is scientific…but this one is even less so

(4) ++ This optional section includes any incredibly *brilliant observations that don’t fit into simple quantitative slices like the scores and octopuses *(they are likely NOT brilliant)
